The day Shirdi Baba chose
“It’s the time Mother Divine is calling.”
On Vijayadasami in October 1918, Shirdi Sai Baba sat in his small Dwarkamai temple. Devotees came to invite him to the Mother Divine festival feast and to carry the last request of his beloved Tatya, who lay dying. Baba sent them away. Alone with Laxmibai, watching the fire, he pressed nine coins into her hand — nine angles of reaching God — gave his students his namasmarana for the first time, and spoke his final promise. Then he turned to Tatya, who had run to the Dwarkamai healed and begging him to stay:
No. It’s the time Mother Divine is calling. I’m taking off. Goodbye.
He chose the day of the Mother’s victory to complete his mission on earth and return his soul to its source. Not coincidence — Baba, who told his students in advance when he would leave, chose Vijayadasami deliberately. The Sri Sai Satcharitra says it plainly: “Vijayadasami is regarded by all Hindus as the most auspicious time and it is befitting that Baba should choose this time for his crossing the border.”
On this sacred lunar anniversary, the Divine Mother’s infinite love and Baba’s eternal presence are tangibly alive together. It is the most auspicious day in the calendar to reach both — and Baba’s own word on what happens when a soul does:
“Who really surrenders to me, it is my duty to take care of them.”
The tenth day is victory
Vijayadasami is the festival of the Divine Mother’s triumph over the forces that obscure the light. In the story the tradition tells, those forces gathered into Mahishasura — a being who had accumulated so much power that the gods themselves could not defeat him. Only the Mother could. Sri Kaleshwar described how every deity, every maharshi and every angel came together in one form to meet him, and prevailed.
This is a day for the soul’s victory: clarity over confusion, light over whatever has been blocking the light, the soul’s original nature over the weight of everything that has covered it. Nine days of sacred fire, transmission and teaching purify and clear whatever blocks the soul’s connection to the Mother. Vijayadasami is the day the clearing completes — a doorway to overcome what stands in the way of your spiritual progress, receive the courage to walk your true path, and receive healing, strength and divine fulfillment.
In each person there is a fire, a light. See that light, that is She. Whenever you pull Her in you, that is Her nature.

When does registration close?
Registration stays open until 12:00 noon Pacific on Tuesday, October 20 — so you can still join on the morning of the day itself and be in time for the satsang and the Sacred Fire Worship.
What if I can’t attend live?
Every session is recorded and the replays are posted inside DEVI LOKA. You receive the full day whether you are present for it live or not, and the fire carries your name either way.
I’m not in the Pacific time zone.
All times listed are Pacific. On October 20 that is 3 hours behind New York, 8 hours behind London and 12½ hours behind India — so the Sunrise Abishek at 7:00 AM PT is 10:00 AM in New York, 3:00 PM in London and 7:30 PM in India. The evening fire falls overnight for Europe and Asia; the replay is there in the morning.
Do I need to have attended Navaratri?
No. Vijayadasami stands on its own and is complete in itself. The nine nights deepen it, but the tenth day gives its own victory to whoever comes to it.
Where does it all take place?
Inside DEVI LOKA, the Divine Mother Center’s online community. The Vijayadasami space is added to your account the moment you register — nothing else to install, nothing else to find.

Then Vijayadasami is already yours, in full. Day Ten is included with every ticket to the Navaratri Virtual Retreat — there is nothing further to buy. The Special Blessing Package remains open to you if you would like to receive the blessing transmission, the udi and the neem leaf.
What is the Special Blessing Package?
The whole Vijayadasami Celebration, a powerful blessing transmission given on the day, and two sacred objects from Shirdi sent to your home: udi from Baba’s dhuni and a laminated neem leaf from his Gurusthan. Eighteen leaves were collected in 2019; twelve remain, so twelve packages are offered. Proceeds support the Divine Mother Center and the Karuna Shirdi Sai Baba Temple.
Is the package only for Vijayadasami?
Yes. It is offered on this one day, when the Divine Mother’s victory and Baba’s mahasamadhi meet — and only until the twelve are gone or registration closes at noon Pacific, whichever comes first.
