In Sri Kaleshwar’s teaching, prayer is not a performance offered toward a distant divinity. It is not a matter of finding the right words, the correct form, or a sufficiently elevated state before beginning. It is a direct transmission — as precise in its mechanism as making a phone call.
He taught it in exactly those terms:
Once you chant these prayers, once you hook them, it automatically hooks the master’s soul. Prayers are so important. It’s like a direct telephone number to dial to God. If you want to call your friend, you have to dial the perfect number 40150049, then you can talk. A perfect prayer, the vibrations, once you chant them, it will flow. Those vibrations are also going into the air. The mantra vibrations start to flow in the air. Then, you will start to feel unbelievable fragrance from the nature.[1]
A telephone number works when you dial the right digits — not when you feel ready to call, not when the conversation seems important enough, not when you have perfected the words you intend to say. You dial. The connection opens.
This is what prayer actually is. A mechanism. A specific act that produces a specific result in the soul. The Divine Mother receives it not because you performed it beautifully, but because you dialed.
IWhat the Vibration Does
The mechanism has a more precise description than “prayer connects you to God.” Sri Kaleshwar teaches it in terms of what the vibration does to the soul directly:
The prayer is most important, it connects to the vibrations strongly. English is okay, but take Sanskrit, the Gayatri, or your personal mantra. The rhythm, up and down, 100% the vibrations will impact on your soul. Those vibrations already exist in nature. The real vibrations from a healer will only generate through the heart.[2]
Three things to hold here:
English is okay. She does not require Sanskrit. The specific ancient mantras carry their own vibrational potency — that is why they are used. But the heart talking to the Mother in its own language is received. The requirement is honesty, not language.
The rhythm impacts the soul. Not the meaning of the words. The rhythm. The up and down of the chanting itself creates something in the soul — clears it, charges it, opens a channel. This is why repetition in prayer is not mindless: the repetition IS the practice.
Real vibrations generate through the heart. The heart is the instrument. The heart that is genuinely turning toward Her, carrying whatever it actually holds — confusion, longing, gratitude, grief — generates the real vibration. A heart going through motions generates something much less.
The teaching is consistent: what makes the connection is the genuineness of the turning. Whatever you bring is okay. The dial tone opens the moment you begin.
IIThe Deepest Reason to Call
Beneath the mechanism is a more fundamental teaching about why the relationship with the Divine Mother matters — what it is actually for.
Sri Kaleshwar posed a question that most people spend their entire lives trying to answer with the wrong things:
Is your body the Reality? Is your beauty the Reality? Is your wealth the Reality? Is your name and fame, the Reality? You and the divine link is the Reality forever and ever. That is the satchitananda, pure, pure, crystal divine love. Something you have to know, what is that? That is a spark. Where is that spark coming in you? Your heart really needs to strongly fall in love with the Mother, with God, to know who you are.[3]
To know who you are. This is the purpose.
The Divine Mother is not an external resource the soul turns to for assistance with its difficulties, then sets down when the difficulty passes. She is the source the soul came from, the reality the soul is most deeply oriented toward, and the one relationship through which the soul can actually know what it is. All the other searches — for security, for recognition, for love that lasts — are the soul looking in the wrong direction for what only this relationship provides.
Falling in love with the Divine that the teaching describes is not a devotional feeling to be summoned. It is the natural result of actually beginning the conversation. Bringing what is real into the prayer rather than what seems appropriate. Talking to Her the way a child talks to its mother — without editing.
IIIWhat to Bring
Nothing needs to be prepared. Nothing needs to be resolved first.
Bring what is actually there — the confusion, the longing, the question without an answer, the fear that hasn’t responded to reason, the person you’re carrying in your heart, the thing you don’t know how to say. The teaching says English is okay — which means the heart is accepted as it is. Not as it wishes it were. Not once it has improved.
The relationship deepens through honest exchange, not through impressive prayer. And the Mother already knows what is in the heart. What the turning toward Her does is not inform Her — it opens the channel from the soul’s side. The telephone number is already in the directory. The call connects the moment you dial.
IVTen Days of Opening the Channel
Navaratri creates ten consecutive days to practice exactly this — turning toward Her with what is real, repeatedly, under conditions designed to help the channel open.
The ancient palm leaf knowledge specifies Navaratri as the optimal time for this contact because the energy of the season itself supports it — the nine forms of the Mother move through these days in a concentrated sequence, and the fire ceremonies performed each night create purification in the soul that makes the communication cleaner. A soul that has been cleared through fire is a better conductor than one still carrying the accumulated weight of unaddressed karma.
Each night: fire. Mantra. Satsang. Teaching. Each of these is a different form of the same conversation — the soul turning toward Her in whatever way it can hold in that moment. Ten days of dialing. Ten days of the channel being held open.
It does not require anything to be worked out first. It requires only the honest turning.

Once the conversation begins, something shifts in what you carry. The next question is whether you can let Her take the weight of it.
